First to arrive is this 2015 Audi A3 new sedan, notable as it is the first time the A3 has been offered as a compact four door. This is a review of the 2015 Audi A3, check out well either.
The 2015 Audi A3 is more than half a foot shorter than its prime competitor, the slinky Mercedes-Benz CLA-class, and a dimensional near-duplicate of the original. Built using Volkswagen’s flexible MQB architecture that also underpins the MkVI VW Golf/GTI and 2016 Audi TT, among many other VW Group products, the A3 is 10 inches shorter than the 2014 A4, but within about an inch of its bigger brother in height and width. As such, the A3 slides into the space left open when the A4 grew into the ’tweener it is now. Like many Audis, the front wheels have been moved forward from the platform baseline, by about 1.5 inches in this case, to give the car better dash-to-axle proportions.
2015 Audi A3 New Design
The 2015 Audi A3 is based on Volkswagen’s MQB modular platform, which means this car shares its architecture with the Volkswagen Golf and little pieces of that show through in the A3. For example, the dual exhaust tips look the same as the MK7 GTI. 2015 Audi A3 includes Wheels are cast aluminum alloy, 17-inches in diameter, wearing all-season 225/45R17 tires. Optional wheel upgrades, in 18- and 19-inch diameters, provide a maximum factory-shipped summer-compound tire size of 235/35R19. Prestige models like the car I drove also come with a more aggressive front fascia and side skirts. In fact, the A3 really just looks like a shrunken version A4 and that can hardly fall in the strike column.
The rear suspension 2015 Audi A3 is a four-link design, with its springs and shock absorbers mounted independently of each other. Steering assist is electromechanical. There are disc brakes at all four corners with single-piston sliding calipers over each iron rotor (the parking brake utilizes an electrically actuated servo on each rear caliper).
The new 2015 A3 into the same equipment league as the rest of the Audi family, the A3 arrives with an impressive list of standard premium equipment. There are three trim levels (Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige) and even the base model is fitted with leather upholstery, a large panoramic moonroof, bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lamps, Bluetooth streaming audio and LED taillights.

2015 Audi A3 Sedan is available with two four-cylinder gasoline-burning TFSI engines. Both engines run exclusively on premium unleaded. With a displacement of 1.8-liters, the smaller unit sends 170 horsepower and 200 lb-ft. of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The sprint from zero to 60 mph takes 7.2 seconds and top speed is reached at 130 mph.
The larger 2.0-liter mill generates 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque, enabling the A3 to reach 60 mph from a stop in 5.8 seconds. Power is transferred to all four wheels via the same six-speed dual-clutch transmission that is linked to the smaller engine. Fuel economy for the 1.8-liter is rated at 23/33 city/highway mpg, while the 2.0-liter is actually slightly more efficient at 24/33 mpg.
These 2015 Audi A3 sedans arrive just in the nick of time--as the curvaceous new Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 and several more conservative, entry-lux models like the Acura ILX have already hit the market.
